Marketer of the Year Categories

Marketer of the Year
This award goes to the individual or company that has exemplified the best in marketing efforts and results for the calendar year 2009. This award is the only one that uses a third-party nomination system, with nominations open to any individual or firm in the Inland Empire (as defined elsewhere, consisting of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties and selected communities in the easternmost portion of Los Angeles County).

Best Marketing Campaigns of 2009
Three major categories of awards may be entered, two of which have sub-divisions for non-profit and for-profit firms. Any person or firm within the Inland Empire may enter. Persons or firms outside the Inland Empire may enter work done on behalf of clients whose business is in the Inland Empire.

Integrated Marketing Campaign
Entry must include at least three different media types (see list) from at least two major media groups that are intended to work together to achieve a marketing goal. There are two separate sub-categories for non-profit and for-profit firms.

Use of Social Media
Entry must demonstrate the use of one or more social media to achieve a marketing goal. There are two separate sub-categories for non-profit and for-profit firms.

Branding or Rebranding Effort
Entry must show not only a wining creative effort in terms of an attractive and effective logo or symbol, but also provide brief explanations for the branding rationale and its result(s).

AWARDS

Best in Class
This award is given to the top entry in each of the 5 award categories, at the discretion of the judges. If no entry is judged deserving of this recognition in any given category, no award will be given.

Award of Distinction
This award will be given to any entry whose point total is in the 90^th percentile of all entries. There may be multiple awards in any category.

Award of Excellence
This award will be given to any entry whose point total exceeds a threshold that will be set by the judges.

Best in Show
This award will be given if the judges feel there is one single entry that deserves to be singled out in this way.
